Based on the set-up of influence points as the main mechanical through-line for the game, I suspect I probably wasn't alone in assuming they/the final debate would lead to a specific resolution of some kind at the end here, even if that probably set up for continued conflict in some form. Phoenix flouncing is certainly very Phoenix, though (usually more Isawa than Shiba, admittedly).

We also began and ended the game with two units of Gaijin Goods because we could never fathom who the hell would WANT the damn things- and Higashime as the stickler for law and order she is, we couldn't exactly deal them under the table even if we'd found a taker.

Otherwise, our surplus commodities are all things we either came into court needing (Stone, Sake) or that we basically took to be nice (Yams. Two frickin' units of yams )

Yeah, I'm really hoping post game that we can see the starting numbers as how the GMs arrived at them because they were definitely a step above previous trading games.

(Maybe I misunderstand that part of the setting! If someone desperately wanted their Consumed cured, that's on me.)

Ryusei wouldn't have minded being able to meditate without the hangup But I liked the roleplaying beat where Yuna helped him with it, to the point where I might ask if I can buy it off with XP later.

Ours was marked, "It's a good one" and when we asked what it was, we were told go google it (not that bluntly). And the Mantis was looking for something, but he said it in gaijin gibberish, so unless he said "I'm looking for agoodone" I'm not certain we knew if we had it or not XD

I thought that sounded pretty cool at the time, but I don't think any of us in the Crane had Consumed! (It also might have been a little weird to ask that a service in a clan-level treaty go to a status 1-2 PC, perhaps. )

.... hmm, I wonder what would happen if you'd offered that to the Fox Clan champion? Unless his disad is something else, I guess.

It's superficially Shourido themed, but most campaigns that aren't in the Spider Clan era still use the Shourido dis/advantages without the specific Spider fluff because they're flavorful enough on their own.

It's a tricky one to pitch.

"We have some rare incense that is exceptionally helpful in bringing balance." and then pm them that it cures consumed?

I dunno if Kaguya has Consumed, but I'd have been a little interested in trying it on her

Ryusei has Consumed, not to reflect some devotion to Shourido (which, if it existed, he would despise) but to play with a guy who gets lost in the Void a bit when he meditates.

Because if you file off the flavor text, the mechanics of the Consumed disads can be really cool and flavorful.

I had a great time monk-eying around. We didn't have any resources or objectives or anything, so it was nice to just talk with some people, write some stories, and share some other stories from Japanese antiquity.
