This poll asks not which element of the campaign you wish to tackle, but rather what style of game you would like to play next. We currently have about 15 ideas for games. Setting aside the few that only make sense further down the road in the campaign, these fall into a couple categories:

1) Heist--Characters attempt to achieve a set of defended or contested objectives through ingenuity and skill as much as brawn.

2) Closed-Room Intrigue--Or in these cases, mostly closed-castle intrigue. Think Agatha Christie, here: there is a mystery (or set of mysteries) for characters to solve, but the elements to solve them are close at hand.

3) Combat--A game that features lots of fighting. A time for Bushi. A time for Earth Rings.

4) Epistolary--A game of letters. This would be a more political game about correspondence and its role in shaping the factionalism in the Empire.

5) Travel-Adventure--A more wide-ranging game in which characters search for or attempt to achieve objectives at several locations, encountering a variety of challenges along the way.

They all sound good to me And the vote spread so far bears that out!

Personal feelings.

1: Heist. This is gonna be hard on a pbp that's not small and invite only.

2: This can be done, I don't really feel another court game. But this is and isn't that so I could give it a whirl.

3. Doable, I would highly suggest a third gm for this one though.

4. Big nope from me.

5. Could be fun, but also hard to sell in a pbp format. Are we all one clan? Imperial legionaires? Emerald Magistrates? How would this work? It is also a lot of work with a huge number of locations needed to really be viable.

I don't even know how one would gamify letter writing, but based on the construction of events and systems for this game, I'll try anything y'all want to run. That said, I voted my preferences, and thank you for soliciting player input about future styles of games!

Of those, the game most immediate to the campaign is the Hunt for the Oracle, in which players will join the entourage of Isawa Takao to try and find the Oracle of Fire and learn Heaven's Will (or who is the strongest Fire Shugenja in the land!) or maybe both! Watch and Contribute as the Master of Fire('s troop of guys) solve(s) the Empire's Problems!

This game will not manifest for many months, but we hope you will join us there!

Odd question would Minor Clans, Ronin, Imperials be open to play in the future game?

I love this!

Ryusei likely won't be a good pick for that game (he has way too many responsibilities at home, especially after selling the marriage to Yuna to higashime as a way to help get his house back on its feet) so I'm brainstorming concepts...

I worry this sounds a bit like a phoenix only game. But I'll see how it goes.

It's clearly a Phoenix and Ronin only game, they walked out on us after all why would we help them
