As clans get comfortable with their commodities, talk will inevitably turn to Winds and how to support them. There are some interesting discussions happening already!
One thing I do want to reinforce: we are used to thinking about problems like this in one of two ways. Either "what does my lord want" or "what does my clan want."
My advice for making this part of the game enjoyable: don't wait for your Daimyo to tell you what to do. Some of them do have firm opinions, but ultimately this is the question that transcends mere loyalty. You and your house have too much to gain (and in some cases lose) to let this thing hinge on what your lord thinks. Some lords will be against making a choice to the bitter end. Don't fall into that trap unless you really want to.
As for the clan, you are welcome to coordinate with other players, but please do not feel like your clan are the only players that you can coordinate with. The coalitions that will build around the Winds will probably include people that are not in your clan. That's a good thing: it means that your Wind has a broader base of support! It can also mean that you may disagree with or are competing with people whose characters wear the same colors as yours over this Wind issue. If you are careful not to take that rivalry into personal territory, that can be a good thing for storytelling, too. Just remember to be open and kind to other players.
