Izumi nods.

"We'll see if they continue to do so," she says. "Or perhaps it would be more interesting to bet on who has to drink the Cup."

[Yasuki Ryoichi]

“They speak of the Cup of Defeat as if it’s filled with poison,” Ryoichi commented. “Is it truly so dire? Or is it more of a cruel joke?”

[Kasuga Izumi]

"It has been observed that the one who drinks from it suffers all manner of misfortunes until the next Bowman's Wager," Izumi replies. "Some have called the drinker the unluckiest person in the Empire."

[Yasuki Ryoichi]

"Really? That... does seem ominous," Ryoichi said, eyes widening as a superstitious chill ran through him. "Who drank from the Cup last year? What... what happened to them?"

[Kasuga Izumi]

"It was a ronin that the Centipede sponsored, Shanan," Izumi says. "He slipped and fell on the way out of the contest, breaking his leg. Matters didn't improve for him."
