The Highway of Commerce that links north with south and west with east, the River of Gold is chock-a-block with barges and boats of all descriptions. Several ox-bow lakes near the river are ideal for terrestrial and boat-based fishing, though fleets of villagers both up and down stream fish directly from the river much of the year.
The climate of Kyuden Ikoma being what it is, the river is in no danger of freezing this year, and commerce will continue unabated. The river near Kyuden Ikoma is wondrous deep, but not particularly swift. Boating is no hazard, though swimming at this time of year can be chilly in the evenings.
