Isawa Shingo's early start to the day actually preceded many of the gamblers and hangers-on who were preparing for the Bowman's Wager later in the day - almost preceding the work crews assembling the stands and preparing all the other details. But in a way it made it easier for him, letting him wander and make seemingly idle conversation that he'd turn to the other great upcoming competition: the sumai tournament. There was plenty of time to chat while working slowly, as no one was too worried about running out of time when the day was so young.

Although Shingo himself was tiring and in great need of lunch by the time he ended his morning activities, he managed to learn everything he'd hoped for.
