Nani? There are people trapped in a mine?! Let’s roll!
When you arrive at the scene, confusion and disorder are all around. It is clear that a rescue operation for the trapped miners needs to be organized and executed, and with great speed.
Each participant must choose 1 of the following roles to which they will contribute their efforts. Each role has an associated roll. The threshold of success for each role must be met in order for the operation as a whole to succeed.
GM Fukurokujin says: Want additional successes on the roll? Each successful Raise counts as an additional successful attempt (eg, Engineering / Intelligence Raised to TN 25 gives you the required 2). No, you may not call more Raises than normal.
Organizers (5 successes)
Engineering/Intelligence: Tn 20 to ensure the rescue effort is not hampered by further subsidence. [Mandatory 2 successes]
Battle/Perception: TN 25 to marshal the effort with teamwork [Mandatory 3 successes] [If you are Contrary and attempt this roll, you must call a raise to work with others in this situation].
Diggers (12 successes)
Athletics/Strength to dig with power! TN: 20
Athletics/Stamina to dig through your weariness TN: 20
Investigation/Perception to find trapped miners TN: 20 (4 mandatory successes)
Triage (5 successes)
Medicine/Intelligence. TN: 20
OR
50 points of damage healed by spell. [Each 10 pts=1 success]
Morale Officer (6 successes)
Any 1 Perform skill/Awareness, TN: 20
OR
Divination/Awareness, TN: 25
The following Advantages and Disadvantages apply to this Event: Daredevil, Tactician, Voice, Bad Eyesight, Cursed by Meido, Missing Limb: Arm (Diggers), Phobia: Blood (Triage, Diggers).
Rewards
If all of the success thresholds are met, the miners are saved! Each participant may purchase the Hero of the People advantage at a 1-pt. Discount. In addition, you gain 6 glory.
If more than half of the success thresholds are met, the team is not entirely successful, but is acknowledged as having given it a good effort in bad circumstances. Gain 3 glory.
If fewer than half of the success thresholds are met, the effort is a shambles. Each participant loses 6 glory. The miners lose their lives.
