Yuna was not entirely sure she was following the conversation about desserts. They were talking about desserts, right?

"A good point, Otomo-sama. All who value the merits of the earth appreciate steadfast endurance. Strength. Enduring what others might think cannot be endured. It is not a solely masculine virtue." A thought that had perhaps colored her thinking. "It is beautiful in anyone."

"Ah, my Papa would want to meet you, Otomo-sama. There is much to learn about the earth, and not solely in Ageki land."

"I did want to invite you to our wedding. I realize you must get these invitations all the time and cannot possibly have time. Please understand the invitation will be sent in gratitude and a genuine hope to see you again, and thank you again, and let you see our married life unfolding, but with understanding of your greater duties and many demands on your time."

[Otomo Mariko]

Mariko pauses for a moment to parse Yuna's response.

"Oh, well," she replies at length, "I shall look forward to receiving it. If duty allows, I will be pleased to attend. The northern coasts invigorate a young woman."

Yuna smiled brightly.

She really did hope Otomo-sama could attend.

"I am wondering if one of the events before this winter court could ends should be a celebration of marriage. Perhaps a series of offerings to Musubi-no-Kami. I know the Otomo family maintains the most famous of Musubi-no-Kami's temples."

"If I were to propose such an event, do you think it's a good idea? Do you have any suggestions on the kind of offerings Musubi-no-Kami might enjoy most? I thought almost any art or performance could honor marriage, as a theme. You could perhaps accept the offerings on Musubi-no-Kami's behalf."

"I have so much joy in my marriage. I don't know how to thank Musubi-no-Kami enough. But a kind of festival day for her is a start!"

[Otomo Mariko]

"I think the Lady Adviser might approve of such ideas," Mariko says. "Perhaps, if she presides again, you might present such an idea to her."

[Agasha Yuna]

"Thank you for the encouragement. I'll look to do so."

She smiled and continued to enjoy the older woman's insight and company.
