Maybe she'd make this a habit. As she headed back for a quick stop at the Crab House after the Kemari kick-off, Masaki started wandering through the pathways in the Courtyard - first inadvertently, then suddenly noticing what she was doing, and finally purposefully, each step taken as if carefully organising something - in her soul as in her trade books.

She looked at each one of the Clan Houses, then at the shape of the Kyuden lighted against the dark horizon, looked down at the pebbles on the ground, looked forward.

Each step a ripple. Each ripple a possibility.
