Sadako lifted her chin. "I could use a few more such fools, Lord Kaiu. If I had them, we could solve this by the end of Winter. It is the clever ones that will do us the most harm. Thank you for your hospitality. I must take my leave."

And double the guard on the Tenshu.

[Kaiu Masahiko]

Lord Kaiu bowed deeply. "Forgive my honesty, Lady Seppun. We cannot be other than we are, and those of us who rely on jade tend swiftly to become jaded outright. I wish you well, even if the hope seems frail from where I stand. Go, if you must, but with our blessings on you."

[Seppun Sadako]

Lady Seppun acknowledged the bow with a regal nod befitting her true stature, then departed.
