HIkaru has done his best to call ahead, letter of introduction with him as he waits patiently for entry. There's several things he hopes to gain here, and it really would just depend on what happened when he arrived. Hikaru has multiple scrolls, along with pen and ink under his arms as he bows to the guards.

"Doji Hikaru is here for an appointment with Kaiu-diamyo-sama, if he is still available"

Hikaru had met the man on the opening night, and now it was potentially time to make use of that connection.

Hikaru is escorted into the Crab's receiving room, which is interesting in part because the rear wall of the room is host to a number of strange machines, all relatively small, but each looking devilishly intricate. After a moment, Lord Kaiu enters, his expression the definition of pleasant.

"Doji-san, how nice to see you!" He sat behind the desk, his back to the wall of machines. "How can the Crab help you today?"

"Well, there are a few things" Hikaru sets down his scrolls "To begin, I must at least offer the perfunctory minimum of my duties and appeal your your logic to support Doji Noriko"

He waits a beat and pauses. "Now, if you would like a speech I am happy to give it. But I would be remiss in my function is I did not consult you in advance. Our diplomats have agreed to arrangements with the support with Kaiu engineers for our holdings, and...well, to be blunt, I can likely count on one hand the number of those who understand the concepts as well as you, and none with the authority to deem the knowledge appropriate to transfer. I" Hikaru waffles "My house has a unique place in defense, and I would fail in my duties if I did not pick the mind of the greatest expert of our age"

"Those are two very different topics." Masahiko said, somewhat less warmly. "I'd need specifics with either, but you should pick one and see it through to the end. Then we can handle the other."
