(D9 EM) Reporting the Accord of Beak and Claw

Hoshiko has reporting to do on her own investigations and it sounds like there's one more agreement to gain approval for as well. So she's sent the request for audience with Lady Doji via appropriately delicate note passed to the servant from a few feet down the 'hallway'.

Hikaru brushes sleep from his eyes. He'd gotten word that the Scorpion had agreed to a counter offer and that the Diamyo was accepting presentations and sees another as well

The priestess bows deeply before settling in to her report. "After consulting with Kuni Shiori-san, it seems that the spirit haunting the place fits the descriptions of those from gaki-do. Such things are very hard to contain. I plan to gather more information about the particular spirit, if I can, tonight, making use of the sympathies our shrine provides."

"I felt the delegation should be alert, in case the attempt draws its attention. I was not certain if this was a matter our hosts guards should be appraised of or no. I assume the Lion should have some general idea of the danger present, at least." Would Shintaro have reported to the Ikoma, actually? After saying it, Hoshiko wondered if it would occur to him.

Hikaru bows. "Hoshiko and I have both worked out an arrangement with the Scorpion. I believe this completes our requires needs assuming the Phoenix treaty still goes through."

Furthermore, the Asahina family and the Shosuro family will consult and cooperate on plague readiness and disease treatment to spare future generations the wrath of Jurojin's servant whenever possible. To begin such cooperation, the Asahina family are invited to send a research delegation to the lands of the Shosuro family for a two month residency. The Scorpion will share medical expertise they have developed in this area (Medical tech item).

The Doji family are invited to send a group of artists to a prestigious holding of the Scorpion, the details of which are to be finzalized as the wedding negotiations are finalized.

To commerate this momentous occassion, two marriages will seal this exchange:

Doji Machiko will marry into the Scorpion clan to Soshi-ke no kashin Soshi Kyoko

Hoshiko nods. "I hope to have more information tomorrow. I trust the Seppun have efficacious weapons much like yours, as well as spiritual wards given their duties. Our hosts are here in their own homes, and thus may have more than one ancestral blade that approaches useful in the situation."

She considers, "I suppose passing it to Ikoma through Kitsu-sama offers damage controls? He won't care that the topic is unseemly, and I believe his peers must simply be used to him offering such things." It is said not so much as instruction to the Lady Doji, which would be highly unnecessary, so much as working through the politics in her own mind. Court is forever full of lessons.

She offers support to the Scorpion proposal, noting the Asahina healers will jump at the chance for such professional collaboration after the years of scarce opportunity.

"I think it best if this comes directly from me. Kitsu-san is a dear, but he has no real understanding--or care for--social niceties. He is as likely to land us in more trouble as to get us out of it. I think that I can finesse Sanae."
