[D1, EA, EVENT] Meet the Daimyo: Crane

Upon entering the delegation house you are assailed by sound and activity. The servants have laid out the screens to create a small common area made comfortable by art brought from the students of the Kakita Academy–including, one notices, a large number of pieces from students from other clans. You are met by a functionary–not an official member of the delegation, but a member of Lady Doji’s entourage. You think he might be a second cousin of Lord Asahina.

“Konbanwa, delegate! It is my pleasure to welcome you to the delegation house on behalf of Lady Doji. Please, make yourself comfortable here, partake of our mochi and socialize with the other delegates. Lady Doji will call each of you for your interview shortly.”

One by one, each member of the Crane delegation will be summoned for an onboarding interview with Lady Doji.

At some point during the roleplay, you will need to make the following checks. You may choose when to make them, but they must all be made in the course of the conversation: Tea Ceremony/Void: tn 20. Sincerity (Honesty or Deceit as applies)/Awareness, tn 20. Etiquette (Courtesy)/Awareness, tn 25

If you are successful on two of the checks, then Lady Doji will be pleased to make an introduction for you to another NPC of your choice. She has many contacts, and is disposed to assist those in her delegation who will show the Crane at their best. You will receive a Free Raise on contested social skill rolls against that NPC during your first interaction with them because of the strength of Lady Doji’s word. This bonus does not apply to Otomo Keihime or Otomo Tooru.

If you are successful on all three of the checks, then Lady Doji will be favorably disposed toward you because of your grace and comportment. Once this game, Lady Doji will perform a Court Action you request, provided it does not conflict with her goals.

If you fail all three checks, Lady Doji will become concerned about your ability to contribute to the delegation. You will be signed up to a remedial comportment study session with Doji O-hana, professional chaperone. You will sacrifice your EM slots for the next two days to grueling practice, but receive 1 extra xp to spend on one of the above skills when the first session ends.

Results

The following characters have passed two rolls, a passing grade for the interview. They receive a letter of introduction to an NPC of their choice and a Free Raise on contested social skills rolls against that NPC during their first interaction with them.
