[D1, LM] Unexpected arrival (expecting)

[Doji Arai]

When she saw her here, she couldn't really believe in her own eyes. No way she could be such... such... Ok, it is Aito we are talking about. Of course, she can be such a brat.

Arai prepares her things in what at this side of the Empire apparently counts as a room. She's as quick as she can be and immediately after she's done, she heads to her sister's room. She knocks.

"Sister. Let's go for a walk. Now." Her tone is polite, but reveals certain urgency and authority, perhaps.

[Doji Aito]

My sister! She ran to ask for explanation. That was a nice surprise for her. "I am coming Arai sama" and exits the room to meet her.

[Doji Arai]

Arai offers a small bow. "Beautiful weather. Let us enjoy a walk." She says curtly and without waiting for an answer, she walks ahead expecting Aito to follow her.

She walks and walks without looking behind her and only once she reaches a spot at the courtyard that no one could hear them, she stops and turns to face Aito. It is obvious that she waits for a good answer without even posing a question.

[Doji Aito]

Aito is ready to confront her sister, after all her reaction was inevitable. "Arai, you seem a little tense. Is there a problem I could help you with? I am here to help you with anything"

[Doji Arai]

Arai almost frowns but at the last moment she remembers that people could be watching them.

"You are impossible, sister. Yes, you are here, but do you remember where you were supposed to be? What were you supposed to be doing this winter?" She fakes a smile. "But please, do tell me how you got here and why. How did you get an invitation. There must be some very important reasons that only make sense in your head."

[Doji Aito]

Aito thinks that her sister is so annoying sometimes. With a soft voice and also a slight smile on her face she confronts her. "Yes, Arai. I remember very well what I was supposed to do this winter. I was to supposed to stay behind and do nothing while you had all the action here. No way that was going to happen. And it's none of your business how I got here. I am here and that's all that matters. Get over it!"

[Doji Arai]

Arai tilts her head and looks at her in silence for a few moments before bursting into laughter.

"Are you still six years old, Aito chan?" She asks while still laughing but soon she stops and her face turns serious. "Do you think that tending our lands, ruling our people and training our troops is beneath you? Let me tell you something. It is certainly not. It is probably too much for you. I should have never ordered it because clearly you cannot be trusted to do anything that is expected of you. Because yes, dear baby sis, it was an order so it is my business."

She pauses for a moment. "Last time. How. Did. You. Get. An invitation."

[Doji Aito]

Aito starts getting annoyed with Arai and her attitude. Why does she have to be so serious and stiff? "If you are so eager to know sister, then i should tell you that Lady Doji had a different opinion and thought it was better for me to be here!" Now, shall you get over it and continue with our business here?"

[Doji Arai]

Arai barely avoids frowning. She just assumes a very stoic face which Aito certainly will see as a fake one.

A few heartbeats pass in silence. "And what will you here? Will you actually talk to people and treat them nicely? Offer your attention to this new endeavor of yours to take over the courts of Rokugan?"

[Doji Aito]

Aito raises her eyebrow dismissing what she just heard. " I will do whatever needs to be done sister" and starts walking back.

[Doji Arai]

"Hey, don't..." She stops there. Aito is being Aito. Nothing different, nothing new. And of course she left just in the middle of the conversation.

Arai remains there for a few moments just breathing in and out. Then she also follows Aito back to the Crane House.
