Interview 5: Tanaka Shinnosuke

[Doji Minehime]

"She may, Tanaka-san. If you believe that the delegation is equal to the demands for restraint your suggestion will require of them, she may even be persuaded to agree with you."

[Doji Shinnosuke]

"Well, I don't know most of my new comrades very closely yet," Shinnosuke admits. "Saving Asahina Minase-san, of course, who was not too far from my year at the Academy--I used to see her occasionally in deportment classes, I suppose she will not have changed too much--a genius. And, hm, I haven't met our Ikehara yet, but I'm not sure I've ever heard 'Ikehara' and 'restraint' in the same sentence... Ah, in any case," he rallies, "I'm sure all will rise to the occasion with excellence. The moment demands nothing less of us. "

[Doji Minehime]

"You are beginning to sound like Asahina Junpei. But your position is noted. I suspect that you shall contribute more than a little spark to what has been, in the past, a very weary delegation."

[Doji Shinnosuke]

"Nothing could be closer to my desire," says Shinnosuke with a smile and a tilt of the head that somehow suggests a bigger dramatic flourish than it really is. Look out, world! "I hope I shall not disappoint."

[Doji Minehime]

Lady Doji rises slowly, signalling the natural end of the conversation has arrived. "It has been lovely to meet you, Tanaka-san. Will you be so kind as to invite Ishimoto Aito in as you depart?"

[Doji Shinnosuke]

“Certainly, my Lady.” Shinnosuke rises and bows deeply. “The honor has all been mine. Until we meet again, then!”

With decorum but a spring in his step (he’s pretty sure that went well!), Shinnosuke makes his exit.
