Jinkan rubbed one side of his scar thoughtfully. "The face, I think. Then the neck."

He looked briefly annoyed for a moment at something to the side of the Daidoji before giving a fake smile that drew the shadows of his face together. "Of course, an honorable soul will show through any physical form."

Sae's eyes widen a touch. "Well, thank you Mirumoto-san, I have had these bones my whole life. Unfortunately my own betrothal is quite firm. I could not dishonour my match and her family, I know you understand."

Making sure she neither leans forward nor back, merely remaining ramrod straight. "But if you bring that intensity to finding the right match then I know Benten-no-fortune will bless the pairing."

"Very well, I will do the same." She blinks as well, fortunes, she had needed that blink. Wait...had Jinkan blinked at all before?

"Yes, an Asahina from the south. She is the cousin of my former husband. She...writes poetry, quite well I think, and seems to have inherited her family's kind disposition."
Seeking to draw the conversation away from her fiance in particular, in case Jinkan started going after her bones.

"My house is quite new, so we have sort matches with older and more established families. Her house is quite influential."

Sae had been enjoying a few moment of calm non-skeletal structure related discussion, but she nods.

"Very well, how do you read it? I understand your clan has quite a talent for this sort of thing?"

"I read signs or throw kawaru, most often kawaru. Reading leaves or stars is not my forte. But you are right that many in my clan possess the talent." He paused before pushing things aside on the table carefully. He made space for him to drop the small sticks and stones the Mirumoto had been keeping in a bag in his sleeves.

"My sister would do it by looking into your eyes. Then she would be all like," he became completely still with his body turned away from her, before sliding his head too far over his shoulder to look at her.

"Before the last bird sings your blood will feed the graves of your ancestors. She knows what you have done and you will not escape. No escape. NO ESCAPE." He said in a deep booming voice at odds with his shape. His eyes wide and terrified, almost at the verge of tears, clear up in seconds.

Jinkan moved back into a normal position and jiggled his bag. "So you are going to need to touch them before we begin."

Carefully she reaches over and touches the kawaru sticks. "I am more familiar with this style, but please, do not feel the need to yell over your should at me if it is not necessary."

She settles back carefully on her cushion and braces.

"Ah, she doesn't receive many visitors." Jinkan shrugged before busying himself with praying over the sticks and ordering them in the correct way before beginning to throw them. Once they landed he stood up to check them and muttered things to himself.

He hems and haws over the twigs and stones for a bit before shrugging. "Unrest, upheaval. These two here being this close together mean it will be unrest in the land at large, not just in your heart. Then you have this one captured between these two, meaning not even the greatest flyers can escape. See the bird there? With its wings caught on fate?"

Jinkan would point and explain as necessary to the Daidoji. No creepy headtwisting, he was actually rather normal when describing the meaning of positions and orientations.

She studies the result for another few moments before continuing on.
"I imagine if you offered similar readings to others in court you would be in high demand, there is a chance someone might ask for a reading who might be of interest as a partner?"

"It won't be long now. I would treat anything that seems strange right now as a sign the unrest is upon you already." With those words he bowed again and a servant was gestured to lead the Crane to the courtyard.
