[Shiba Ryusei]

"There's something to be said for playing simply for love of the game."

Ryusei grinned.

"No doubt that's why this one has been so engaging..."

[Akodo Kenji]

Kenji nodded enthusiastically, he was much more interested in the game than trade arrangements. "Well I find it is far more instructive to play out. What one does with limited resources in a weaker position is important."

He pointed at a stone. "Here is where I made my mistake." Reaching for tea he sipped deeply. "You mentioned writing home Shiba-san. If you dont mind me asking, to whom do you write? Siblings, parents, grandparents, cousins?"

Ryusei nodded at the Akodo's observation of the state of play.

"There's also something to be said for tenacity... ah, yes. Letters home. I write to my mother, and my two younger siblings most often. Father infrequently, about as often as I write to some of my cousins. My grandparents on my father's side are no longer with us. Mother's father retired to a monastery, and her mother is... nearing the end. Her letters have to be read aloud to her."
