Eiji had spent the previous day running from delegation house to delegation house so that his champion would not be surprised by the court today. He'd gathered all he could into his report. No, Kaguya would need to hear what he found in person.

So he presented himself at her quarters for the last time this season.

"Good morning, Bayushi-ue." he said. "I've come to bring you the findings of my information gathering yesterday."

He put the report (Link! on her desk for her perusal.

"I had hoped to bring you news that we'd have a new empress by this evening, but that seems highly unlikely. And the rumblings of Lady Matsu are...deeply worrisome." he offered.
