[D10 MM] Early Fox Gets The... Lion?

Another day, another visit to the Minor Clans.

Once again, Sayomi asked to speak with Kitsune Aiko. She hoped there could be a path forward with her today.

[Kitsune Aiko]

Sayomi is shown to the familiar chambers, where Aiko again rises to greet her.

"Didja eat yet?" she asks, giving a short bow.

[Kitsu Sayomi]

Sayomi bowed to the Fox. "Good morning. And yeah, I've eaten already. Used to rising early. Have you eaten yet, Kitsune-sama?"

[Kitsune Aiko]

"I did, thanks," Aiko replies. "Gonna be a long day, so I figgered I'd eat up."

She nods. "Good victuals here."

[Kitsu Sayomi]

"I'm glad to hear you find it to your liking."

Not that anyone would say to the Lion that their food was poor, if it was, but she had a feeling that Aiko might have said it if it was.

"I had hoped to continue our previous discussion, having had some time to think about what we exchanged. That's alright with you?"

[Kitsune Aiko]

"O' course, Kitsu-san," Aiko allows. "What all's on your mind 'bout it?"

[Kitsu Sayomi]

She had noticed that the Fox wasn't too keen on attending any Lion dojo, so she knew not to bring that up again.

"It would seem that while we spoke, another deal took the last bit of our copper, making the tentative trade we talked about unable to be fulfilled. I was wondering if, apart from the services of our Bards, there was anything else we might assist the Kitsune with?"

[Kitsune Aiko]

"Welp," Aiko says, "That bard-work might be awful helpful f'r me t' be rec'gnized f'r what all I been doin'. 'specially ifn th' Lion'll back my position in Court when I give it."

She nods.

"So I think we c'n go with some of that, mayhaps?"

"Recognised for all the work you've been doing?" she asked with some curiosity. Then, the memory did occur to her about the current situation of the Fox. "... Is this about the leadership of the Fox?"

[Kitsune Aiko]

Aiko nods.

[Kitsu Sayomi]

"Ah, I understand," Sayomi nodded as well. "From what I understand, it would be suitable if someone were recognised for the work they've done for their clan."

And she is the Champion's sister, so it would still be within the bloodline...

"You have the support of many in your clan, from what I've heard. Is that correct?"

[Kitsune Aiko]

"It is," Aiko says. "Cain't say it's all o' e'rybody, 'cause there's always gonna be somebody ain't likes what's goin' on. Could be givin' out sake by th' bottle, an' someone'd gripe it ain't shochu."

[Kitsu Sayomi]

"That's very true," she agreed with a brief chuckle.

"I think it's a fair ask, Kitsune-sama. And I agree to it, personally, but in the end it depends on what the Lady Akodo agrees on. Though I will do my best to persuade her to the justness of your cause."

"'preciate it," Aiko replies. "An' I know you've gotta get th' okay on it all."

She smiles. "Better'n most, I think."

"Of course. And... were you interested in tying a marriage to this agreement? I did mention your Historian to our Akodo Kenji, and he seemed very interested in the idea."

[Kitsune Aiko]

"Kitsune-ke no kashin Reizei Ikuko?" Aiko asks. "Ifn he c'n wait a bit, yeah. She's a bit young yet, but she'll do right by 'im. Be happy t' seal it all up with a hitchin', if it's all sealed."

[Kitsu Sayomi]

"He is young too, so having a waiting period before the marriage is probably good," Sayomi chuckled. Let the youngsters have a moment to prepare for it.

"I will bring it to Lady Akodo for approval, along with the marriage. Thank you so much for your time, Kitsune-sama."

[Kitsune Aiko]

"O' course!" Aiko says. "Glad t' help."

[Kitsu Sayomi]
