With permission to access the libraries, Shiori quickly got to work from the morning hours. So much time had already been wasted when she had assumed that these particular occurrences were merely just peculiar rather than a grave threat looming in the shadows. While there were already a few that had already gotten to work on researching the omens, Shiori was more interested in ending this threat, which might have been very Crab of her.

She would spend her time pouring over the texts in search of means of enacting this ritual to banish or slay the gaki.

The parts of the library to which guests have access--and you're sure there are other, more restricted sections--don't necessarily have much in the way of overt ritual. There are some notes about blessed weapons that have worked in such ways, of course, but most of that is the kind of thing a Kuni would already expect to know, even if jade features less prominently than a Kuni might prefer.

Of note, however, are some specific geometries that seem to have been effective in shaping spiritual energies. Whether they will apply to any individual gaki is an open question, but it's a good place to begin, at least.

Of course, she imagined that every Clan had their academic secrets on the matter. It's not like she was looking into the history of a certain architecture or the plants in the local area. Such topics could be a potential gateway for many things. However, she was glad to find some lead. Perhaps this was what Shintaro was alluding to?

For her second inquiry, she would look further into how to manufacture these certain geometries.

The records indicate a certain amount of variation will necessarily occur, with more complex geometries needed to address more powerful entities. The greater complexity necessarily introduces more possible points of failure, but such is the exchange that must be made.

Proper names also appear to matter, with more specific names affording either greater power or reducing the amount of complexity needed.

The details, alas, exceed the knowledge of a GM who does not partake of such things, but they are ready enough to hand in the hearts and minds of those who do.

Well, she supposed that it was sort of tangential when it came to wrangling mujina. Certain rituals could be manufactured to control or seal them but this was playing with fire, rather than just taking care of pests. While she wasn't sure that if she would put so much weight into something like this and studied in the short term, perhaps it could buy them enough time to put the killing blow to such things? That might warrant some further looking into...
