[Shiba Ryusei]

Ryusei joined his kinsman, but... also had to wonder what sort of world it would be if saving one's commanding officer wasn't expected behavior.

Ryushi took a seat and cleared his throat. It was going to be a story that may sound out of a pillowbook but he had lived it. "We were heading to Kyuden Isawa from Pale Oak taking Isawa Mori as the route. Nothing out of the ordinary in the beginning. We marched on when we stumbled on a weeping child. A weeping child on the middle of the woods is not something one would expect. We had to aid the child. He had been lost in the wood just for a few hours or so she said. Her parents had left to find some food and while following them she got separated." Ryushi nodded. "So my commanding officer decided that we should continue march and that eventually her parents would come back. I persuaded the gunzo to show a bit of compassion and that we should find out the parents of the girl." He took a pause just to ease his mind of the next part of the story.

Nothing good ever comes of strangers in the Isawa Mori.

Ryusei simply nodded for Ryushi to continue

[Shiba Ryushi]

"We walked about the forest trying to find the parents of the girl when we stumbled on a baba yaga hut. Little did we know this child was the hag that lived in that dreaded place. She knew that my gunzo wanted to leave her to her own peril. She went to attack him but I stepped in. The now a hag slashed me but not a typical slash... one that transcended with the anger of a spirit and so... " Ryushi sighed. "I got the cursed that was aimed at my gunzo." It wasn't a complex story but one that bothered Ryushi. "When we got to Kyuden Isawa... I noted something off... I wanted to learn more about the spirit realms but I got distracted rather easily by other things. Every time I wanted to gain a bit of knowledge or tried a piece of wisdom, it escaped me. I somehow taking such risk had angered the Fortune."

[Shiba Ryusei]

"You need not have angered the Fortunes to be cursed. It sounds to me like the curse is the issue, rather than any need to atone on your part."

[Shiba Ryushi]

Ryushi gave it some thought. "I still believe that I should atone and try to balance one thing with another." The Shiba nodded. "I find some relief in my prayers, at least that should help in the daily tasks."

[Shiba Ryusei]

"Oh, naturally, you should pray."

He didn't laugh- it wasn't that kind of conversation- but he did seem amused.

"I just think perhaps you might wish to consult with a shugenja or a monk to see about this... affliction."

[Shiba Ryushi]

He glared at his cousin like seriously dude are you asking me that.. Ryushi gave a polite nod after the stare. "None of their advice have helped or feasible in this time."

[Shiba Ryusei]

Ryusei sighed.

"Curses are well beyond my competence, Shiba-san. But this is the Imperial Winter Court. There might be experts here more seasoned than those you've had access to..."

[Shiba Ryushi]

"Cousin... are you implying that the Isawa and the Asako don't know well...?" Ryushi whispered. "about curses..."

[Shiba Ryusei]

Ryusei, despite everything, arched an eyebrow in some amusement.

"I certainly know few Isawa who would admit it, but, uh... consulting the shugenja of other Clans and of the Imperial Families is a rare opportunity, and one I don't think you should pass up. The Kitsu, the Yogo, the Asahina, the Agasha, the Kuni, the Seppun, the Moshi, the Kitsune, all are represented here, among others. You should try all avenues."

[Shiba Ryushi]

"People here seem so busy that a simple person like myself is lost in the sea of what is court." Ryushi sighed. "But you are right, there are other ideas that may have not been made to help this poor soul."

[Shiba Ryusei]

"If I might... I believe the Kitsu deal with the Spirit Realms most closely. Perhaps you could begin there?"
