[D8, LE, Open] Have Sword, Will Travel

[Hiruma Daichi]

"Because I'm younger?" He asked in way of confirmation. The man could after all mean something else. "Or were you getting at something else perhaps?"

[Ryunosuke]

"Because you understand what a sword is. You know that skill in its use is not optional. Not for you. Not for me."

[Hiruma Daichi]

"You aren't wrong there." Daichi replied with a smirk. It wasn't an option to many in his clan. "After my time here I'm likely to go straight back to the front to my clan's duty." That wasn't the same for many of those here, they'd have lives of court or training troops for a battle that would never come.

"Skill with a blade there will see me through one day and into the next. I guess in that I'm more similar to you then I first thought."

[Ryunosuke]

Ryunosuke nodded once, slowly.

"I have learned from you, as I have learned from Ikoma Honoka. Thank you."

[Hiruma Daichi]

"That's good, as I've learned some myself as well." It was only right to acknowledge that.

Sparring down he paused to begin to move through some simple stretches as a way to cool down. "You ever give much thought to what you will do after this? If you don't become important?"

[Ryunosuke]

"I will die," Ryunosuke said simply. "The one who becomes important will kill me, or I will die on a job, or in some alley, but probably the first one."

He looks up at Daichi. "I told my father that we were not running to safety, but he saw the now-danger, not the one that is coming. But so does everyone else."

[Hiruma Daichi]

"That's the way of it sometimes though. You burn in the pot or risk the fire. Making it past the first at least gives you the chance to avoid the other."

"But if all you have in mind is those three options. Come back to Crab lands with our delegation after the time here ends. We could always use someone with a good sword hand, and Kyuden Hida is also considered pretty damn safe by most."

[Ryunosuke]

"I understand. I will inform my father of your offer. Your advantage may be his advantage."

[Hiruma Daichi]

He nodded. "I won't be upset if you decide not to either, it's just something to think about."

[Ryunosuke]

"Your Lord Hida. Will he kill us?"

[Hiruma Daichi]

"I can't say I know every bit of his mind." Daichi replied after a thoughtful moment.

"He doesn't strike me as that kind of man though. He's a strategist after all and I am certain he will find a place for you and your father that doesn't require you forfeit your lives."

[Ryunosuke]

"Thank you. I will inform my father." He offers a bow, but the way he holds his head is a little different, as though he is not quite prepared to actually offer his neck.

[Hiruma Daichi]

"I appreciate it." He replied with a bow of his own. The oddity was noted but filed away for later investigation if nessacary.
