Wrestling a deal from a Badger (Day 11 EN)

[Hiruma Daichi]

It was later then Daichi usually stayed out, but the day had been a rather busy one, so that was at least a little expected. Arriving at the Dojo he paid his proper respects before stepping inside, his eyes open for Ichiro Himari. He'd come dressed for exercise of course and expected to be tossed around at least a little by the larger man.

[Ichiro Himari]

It is no great challenge to find Himari, even dressed in his dogi, as he towers over others in the room.

He raises a hand. "Hiruma-san!" he says, all joviality. "I'm glad you could make it!"

[Hiruma Daichi]

"Ichiro-sama." Daichi gave him a polite bow in greeting. "Thank you for seeing me on such short notice." He took a moment to look around the Dojo. "Do you usually come practice at this hour?"

[Ichiro Himari]

"I get it in when I can, Hiruma-san," Himari says. "The days have been uncommonly busy--as have the nights, anymore, and not in the ways that would be fun."

He chuckles. "At least not for me. Some others..."

He trails off, shrugging. "Anyway, what all'd you want to talk about?"

He rolls his huge shoulders, swinging arms like tree trunks, beginning to limber up.

[Hiruma Daichi]

"I'm not even sure how someone would find the time to get into that kind of fun, unless they have far less meetings then I do."

He shook his head. "Of course courts not my field of choice so that might be part of it. But i dont think ive shsred a cup of tea with anyonevsince my first day here without talking politics."

He started to limber up as well, no reason to go into this without a warmup. "As for talk, well I imagine the Badger aren't looking for much this far into things but it doesn't hurt to ask at least to start things off."

[Ichiro Himari]

Himari moves his limbering downward, switching from arm-swings to torso-rotations.

Among them, he continues talking.

"For goods," he says, "we could still use some tea, [3 units] worth. It's hard to do research into chado without the supply, after all, and we're a bit chilly for it to grow really well. Not sure what all you'd want for it that we've got, though. Maybe we can set up for future concerns.

"Aside from that, we'd be happy to maintain good relations with our parent Clan. Might be nice to exchange students."

[Hiruma Daichi]

Daichi would follow his lead, no idea to spend overly long on just one part of stretching. "I'd like to say we could fill your need there, but the demand for tea was truly high this year. We could maybe work out something from next year's supply or I can help put you in the touch with the Mantis or Crane. They usually have a number to trade."

"Our own needs are only in things that are vanishing rare, not least of which is a marriage. So maybe the best way to procced would be to discuss an exchange of students."

[Ichiro Himari]

"It might be good to talk to the Crane," Himari replies, now rolling his hips in wide circles.

"But for student exchanges, the Ichiro Bushi would be happy to host a couple of Crab students. We've only got the one School, though."

[Hiruma Daichi]

"I can contact one of those I've met to see if a meeting time could be arranged then." The young gunso replied.

"I'm sure that would be of interest to us, and we have several schools that could host students in return. Any in particular that hold interest to you? Those from the Yasuki, Hiruma, Kuni or Hida?"

[Ichiro Himari]

Working downward to roll his knees and ankles, Himari replies "The Hida are the obvious choice, of course. There are few enough of the Badger who display skill with the kami, however, that the Kuni might well be the least imposition."

[Hiruma Daichi]

"Some to the Hida and some to the Kuni then? If such can be arranged?" Daichi asked as he began to finish up his own stretches.

"Though I suppose the specifics of that also have to do with the number involved."

[Ichiro Himari]

"We are a small Clan," Himari replies. "I doubt more than five a year, and I'd honestly be surprised at so many. One Hida and possibly one Kuni, depending."

Cracking the knuckles on his mighty hands, he asks "Sound okay to you?"

[Hiruma Daichi]

"That sounds agreeable to me." Daichi replied with a nod as he took up a stance.

"I'll see what the Clan thinks of it though."

[Ichiro Himari]

"Fair enough," Himari says, giving a short bow to his practice partner--not an enemy.

"Best of three throws?" he asks as he adopts his own stance.

"Best out of three." Daichi agree as he took his own stance.

He was quick on his feet, but the big man was faster.

With a speed astonishing in a man of his size, Himari rushes forward, meaty hands falling easily into a grip on Daichi's clothes--lapel and belt--bringing him in close and beginning to load him up for an easy hip-toss.

[Hiruma Daichi]

Daichi wasn't Weak by any means. He wasn't the skilled grappler of the hulk of a man that his opponent was though. One did not typically wrestle ogres after all.
