There were little decisions that people made everyday. Eiji was keeping a tight schedule these days. He needed to meet with Kaguya before court to meet the Crane's suggestion for court, and he needed to meet with Doji Noriko as soon as he could to meet Kaguya's demands. Now if these were Lion, surely they would have been up at dawn, already receiving visitors. But they weren't. So Eiji decided to see if he could catch Tanikaze at his morning workout. If he had simply made different scheduling choices, he would have been here for a confrontation extremely relevant to him.

As it was, he would miss that entirely, but hopefully even Eiji couldn't miss a sumai training.

Tanikaze was minding his own business, lifting a fully-grown man into the air with each hand while yelling.

If you were going to get a preview of what a champion sumai looked like, it was best to spend a little time appreciating it. It certainly wasn't the right time to approach. So he simply leaned against one of the walls, and watched the free show.
