Despite the rude morning awakening, Soshi Eiji arrived in court. Was it just his imagination or did the attendance seem somewhat....low today? Negotiations must really be picking up, what else could explain their absense?

The question posed to the court though brought his fan up with a quickness.

So either Seppun Tomaru is lacking in their devotion to Duty , or people just think they are. Nothing like having your honor up as a topic for debate for random samurai in open court. Ah, and which person without conflict of interest is bringing this question to court? Why the Imperial Advisor who just so happens to be in consideration as heir, but somehow without conflict.

It was a shameful abuse of power by the Imperial Advisor, but getting between those two was like an ant trying to stand between two battling lions.

Kenichi felt bedraggledover...evsrything really. Sighing, he ra9sed his fan and glanced around. Noticing the Crane Courtier That Might, he decided tontry an approach.

(Moving towrds Noriko)

Jihen arrived at court and took up a place near his master.

Keihime's opening remarks caught his attention of course...

I don't think this goes the way she hopes it does... Unless she is looking to make him a sympathetic character.

He passively checked his master's response and listened as the court opened for session after the events of the morning.

Honoka, who was slightly distracted with thoughts of a few different things, listened to the court with a curious look.

What's her angle this time...

Chou-sin appears to be nodding along with Keihime's words when glanced at, and his face is...impassive...at the followers-up.

Agasha Yuna would return to the gallery after the item that she was addressing was completed.

Today she is wearing a green kimono with gold embroidery in an elegant floral motif, touched with pink and orange color on the petals.

Ryusei was present, dressed in orange, with red embroidery of waves along the lower hem of his kimono.

He seemed troubled by the debate, but also, reading the room, knew he wouldn't be in a position to do much.

At best, the Otomo might recognize him once. And this was an issue thornier than he felt capable of grappling with...

Boar Clan: Heichi Batsuda, Daimyo of the Boar
Yasuki Ryoichi drifted over to where the Boar Daimyo was standing.

"Good afternoon, Heichi-sama," the Crab delegate said with a polite bow. "I'm honored to report that Lord Kaiu approved our arrangement. If it pleases you, we can bring it to Court today, when opportunity permits?"

Hm, at least one Wind understands honor. Eiji noted. Perhaps it's time to rethink my stance on her.....or take a stance on her.
Weren't people whisperng about her?

How could any continue the arguement against Noriko? Instead, Eiji looked about for coversation partners.

Two monks and...a lone Lion? Where is everyone today?

Still, he made his approach to see if the Lion would converse with him.

Batsuda nodded slowly. "I think that would be alright." He tilted his fan as though to signal somebody, though you don't see a response. "Should get through, once this distraction's over."

Kenji was wearing a fine kimono with images of horses running through fields of long grass. Armed with scrolls and his trusty calligraphy set he sat close to his champion in case she required his skills.

Sayomi wore a nice kosode over her kimono, keeping in more fashionable but practical styles that fit a Lion. She wasn't near high rank enough to wear anything like a full junihitoe or that sort.

Sanjuro listened attentively to the opening.
Why is this politicking even necessary, especially under these auspices?
He knew fully not to take a side since this is not his call.

He he takes his place near Shiba Higashime as the petitioners continue to contribute to the conversation.

by Yasuki Masaki
Masaki this time comes to court wearing the same outfit she had on the first day, a dark blue and grey kimono with a traditional koi fish pattern in a somewhat lighter shade of blue and burgundy-like dark red.

Just before entering, she'll have reported to the Seppun to communicate something. Assuming nothing is wrong, she'll keep close to the Crab delegation - keeping quiet during the whole discussion on Seppun Tomaru. At times, it would seem as if she shifted in her position, but some muttered words from the others in her delegation and she settled in place again. She'd then follow Yasuki Ryoichi's request for acceptance of the trade agreement with interest.

(OOC: Please PM or tag if approaching, I'm very out of it D3 sadly!)

Jinkan is totally at court doing court things. Just watch him court at court.

by Doji Shinnosuke
Shinnosuke is also here! After putting in his two copper coins in the debate over Seppun Tomaru's status--where wiser Crane might have hesitated to invest, but whatever--he retires to the galleries to await further developments.

His court fan is wielded gracefully in his left hand today in an almost, though not quite, Mirumoto-like display of ambidexterity (though, dear gods and fortunes, do not ask this boy to handle even one actual sword). This is because he'd slightly injured his other hand in the mine rescue this morning, and while the wound is superficial and the bandage clean and neat, waving it around prominently in court seems to him unsightly. It might still be noticed by anyone looking more closely at his right hand amongst the silken folds of his sleeve.

((poke if you want him!))

Snip
The green and gold of the Dragon's robes shimmered slightly as he moved to pull a crab from her shell. Or rather to get a moment with her, slightly away from her posse. There was strength in numbers but Jinkan was nothing if not persistent.

"Yasuki-san, might I say that you look lovely. Almost like a painting, except you know, somehow better because you can move to show different sides. Might I have a word?" The Mirumoto bowed and gestured to a semi-empty section of the court where they could grab a bite and talk.
