The Pre-game Rules and Regulations

Post by Cearnach » Wed Apr 10, 2024 12:10 am

Winter Court is a time for making connections, but why wait until one is physically present to connect or reconnect with the great and good of the Empire? The months leading up to Winter Court are therefore host to a storm of correspondence. Letters criss-cross the Empire as wise courtiers set themselves (and others) up for success.

You are the delegates of the Imperial Winter Court 486. In order to feel out your characters, set up connections, and get the maneuvers a-going, we are opening this part of the board early for PCs whose complete sheets have been approved to write letters to one another. Obviously, application processing makes this is a particularly busy time for your friendly neighborhood gms, so while it is perfectly fine to correspond with NPCs, please understand that our response times will likely be slower than those of your fellow players as we get things going.

Rules: Remember that Winter Court is a formal experience, and you never get a second chance to make a first impression. While we are not necessarily "going hard" at the pregame, we will certainly allow NPC opinions to be shaped by the tone and topics you choose to write about. Be careful!

With that caveat understood, there are no hard rules about number of exchanges or anything. Correspondence will, of course, end when the game begins, whether the correspondence has come to a full conclusion or not. Correspondence naturally stops when you are in the same place. You can then exchange notes in pms to finish thoughts if you like. Or, better yet, arrange to meet and continue your conversation there!

Have fun!
