A formal but plain scroll without adornment, as if the writer did not wish to draw attention to its contents.
To Seppun Tomaru, Priest of the Kami, Defender of the Empress

Seppun-san, I am sure you have been inundated with letters in the lead up to this winter's court. I will keep mine short, and beg your patience for its length.

I am told you are a samurai of character and honour, and your service in the Hidden Guard has been exemplary. As such I wish to extend an invitation for tea at a time of your convenience this winter. I believe we would have much to discuss. Please let me know if there are any favourite refreshments I can arrange.

Fortunes' blessings be upon you and your family.

Sae of the Daidoji, Emerald Magistrate, Lady of House Miyahara.

A more formal scroll returns, bearing the wreath-and-chrysanthemum of the Seppun.
Daidoji-bugyo,

It is, of course, a pleasure to confer with members of the Emerald Office at all levels. It would be a greater pleasure to do so after the first formal session of court, by which time a number of formalities will be accomplished which must be undertaken by my office--and, given that the Lord Emerald will himself be present, by yours, as well.

I am told that Purple Needle is a popular blend of tea in the area where your House resides; it would be a pleasure to help you have a taste of home so far away from it.

May the Heavens smile on you and yours.
