Welp, It's Gettin' t' Be That Time...

First of all, THANK YOU, DEAR PLAYERS, for playing and for sticking with the game despite some hiccups!
Second, THANK YOU, CEAR, for letting me tag along with you on this!
Third, I know you've got questions. Ask away; what I can answer, I will, but please keep in mind that we ARE planning future games, so some things have to remain in the GMs' secrecy...

Thank you for running the game! Just some small questions!
Were there any resolved stories or events in this game that faced some challenges or needed adjustments? Only if you're willing to share! I'm always interested in cutting floor/director's cut bits.
Also, which NPC did you find the most enjoyable to play?

You're welcome, of course!
There're always adjustments that get made as things progress, whether adjusting TNs or population counts, or just the voices of characters emerging as they get played.
And on that topic: I love my Seppun and always have. Mariko was surprisingly fun, too, and I always love trotting out the accent for folks like Aiko.

Alright Wiseguy. You've Naishoued, you've threaded, and now windrose. I extend my thanks for your efforts in this and all other games, but what I really want to know is...what did you learn this time? (Stealing Henry's favorite question)

I'm always glad to see you in game and outside it!
As to what I learned: The Court system needs more tuning. It worked well for the game in Naishou, from which text it was only lightly adapted here. (I had notes!) I still think it's a good idea, overall, but it does need some refinement.
I learned also that having more worldbuilding in place is a major help; Cear has done an OUTSTANDING job on this. Seriously. There is a *lot* in the background.

Were we at different Naishou games? Or had you forgotten the Crane delegation melting down twice, and the number of times Obsidian Dragon's Miya logged on to scream at whatever player posted last? XD
I do get the intent with your design here. You want players to hold roleplayed debates, and not overly favor the players who can post frequently nor exclude players due to timezones. It's a tall order.
I think what I will do, should I hold a court game, is rather lean in to the time-wimeyness of the format. Seperate threads for seperate proposals. I realize you want court to flow naturally, but I think I woud lean into, "yes, something outrageous happened, but we've had the servants in to clean, everyone had some tea, and we're not talking about that unspeakable thing now." You can participate in as many proposals as you like and make as many roleplaying the debate posts as you like, but you only get to roll at the end of one to represent how well your total debate was received, and the TN goes up for each proposal debate you hop into by, say 3, to keep min-maxers from dominating all the debates.

We were; I ran it for the MC game in Kudo that time, not Naishou proper. (And I wasn't involved in Naishou 1, either; that was part of my L5R lacuna.

)

Also to give Glory and Status more overt effect, yeah.

Like I said, adjustments. And I do appreciate your feedback, truly.

Thanks for running the game! I enjoyed your NPCs a lot and felt like they had a lot of personality with their own agendas going on.

You've earned a good rest now!
What do you feel like you have learned from this game, and what would you have done differently in hindsight?

Aside from tuning the Court thing (20/20, I know), I'd've kept better notes on the NPC agendas. I got lost a couple of times in them. Of course, that did make the NPCs in question come off as less competent, which worked out, but still...
Alas, there is no rest for the wicked! I've got a chapter due to Oxford UP by the end of the month, and it is tax season in the US, so...the sun is shining, so I must make hay!

It’s a transit day for me, but definitely wanted to pop in and say thanks to you and Cearn for the fun game!
Thanks for the time you spent dealing with a wordy monk and helping me make it into the game!

Another damned solid one in the books!
Got my feedback thread up in my PF, but for now-
Thanks for running this, I had a blast.
1. Biggest curveball the game threw you?
2. Biggest curveball the players threw you?

I loved interacting with your NPCs!
Seppun Tomaru & Otomo Mariko are both invited to Yuna's wedding!
Honestly, just an amazing game. I had so much fun. Thank you!

I saw the feedback, and, as ever, I appreciate it!
1. The game...some of the early adjustments were
fun, though they did need making. The way the Ningi thing happened, though, was the major variation; a lot of it was unexpected.
2. Players? Y'all don't pitch curveballs so much as knuckleballs!
More seriously, seeing the relative levels of organization in the backs of houses, as well as some of the ideas that came up in the back-of-house discussions, was a surprise. Pleasant, but surprising.

As far as attending the wedding...we'll see

The one question on the top of my mind for now:
Was Mariko a tanuki spirit or something???? Kappa? Animate enlightened sake jar?
Hoshiko suggested the spirit possibility very early on, and I was like "nah." And then, a scene or two later, "...unless?" And I haven't been able to lay the idea to rest since.
Either way, thank you for letting her out to play sadane with me!

Those are all better ideas than I came up with, actually.
And I was glad to play with you!

Thanks for running the game, it was much appreciated. I don't have as much time for these as I used to but I had fun with it, hope you did too!

Director's Cut Question: Think back on the game as a whole. If you could go back, and add just one more scene with my character and one of your NPCs in it, what would it be? Who is there? What are they doing/talking about?

Oh, I think you would have had
fun with Aiko and her talking about her brother's situation.
