Sorry, one more! Might involve an NPC request.

I'd convert this question to its more general version, even! Can I attempt to refute the Crane delegation gifting supplies to the Crane?
The general version especially, but this seems a good example for a potential faux pas to be turned into a scandal.Yasuki Masaki wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 3:56 amI'd convert this question to its more general version, even! Can I attempt to refute the Crane delegation gifting supplies to the Crane?
Can one attempt to 'refute' someone presenting an offering? Or are Court Points gained from offerings not subject to refutation?
Not a GM but as per RaW it's all Void Points back if you have 8 hours of rest (or 3 consecutive timeslots as it is in this game - MN/LN/EM from Day 1 to Day 2 if you were at the gathering EN or EN/MN/LN if you were not). If you don't sleep for the required amount in consecutive time slots/hours you get no void back and suffer the Fatigued status (+5 TN to all skill/trait/spellcasting rolls)Agasha Yuna wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:45 amJust to make 100% sure I have this right,
I have been counting 1 VP earned back for 3 slots of sleep.
(plus any earned from meditation, tea, etc)
Is that right?
Since this attracts attention:Isawa Ebiko wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 3:58 amThe general version especially, but this seems a good example for a potential faux pas to be turned into a scandal.Yasuki Masaki wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 3:56 amI'd convert this question to its more general version, even! Can I attempt to refute the Crane delegation gifting supplies to the Crane?

Yep.Ikoma Honoka wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 11:12 amNot a GM but as per RaW it's all Void Points back if you have 8 hours of rest (or 3 consecutive timeslots as it is in this game - MN/LN/EM from Day 1 to Day 2 if you were at the gathering EN or EN/MN/LN if you were not). Note it's 2 timeslots if blessed by yume-do, and 4 if cursed by yume-do
If you fail with Raises while doing so, are the Court Points lost reduced from the person you're supporting, or from your own points?2) Concur with Another’s Position- The PC may work to support the position advanced by another. Doing so will require an Awareness / Courtier, Awareness / Etiquette, Awareness / Perform: Oratory, Awareness / Perform: Storytelling, or Willpower / Intimidation roll, the TN of which is equal to the basic TN set by the presider. It is an uncontested Social Skill roll. Success earns the supported PC 10 Court Points; each Raise on the Roll earns an additional 5 Court Points. Failure with no called Raises earns 0 Court Points; failure with called Raises loses a number of Court Points equal to 10 x the number of Raises called (this can result in negative Court Point totals). A PC may only Concur with a given PC once per court meeting, but a PC may concur with multiple PCs in a given meeting.
For 1, it's for the person supported. Being associated with someone who fares poorly in Court reduces one's own chances of success.Yasuki Masaki wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:03 pmHuh. I'm still coming to terms with some of the court rules, it seems.
1) On 'Concur with Another':

2) And a... maybe a question? Maybe a suggestion?
With one proposal treated at a time, it may end up happening that you have to be online and active at a relatively limited window of time to attempt to 'Introduce a proposal' - as we don't know in advance when one discussion will end so another can begin.
The 'question' would be - is there a rough amount of time each proposal stays up before being accepted or negated so that we can keep that in mind when planning when to stop by to make a proposal?
If not... might there be another way to avoid needing players to be on at the exact time when a proposal is ruled upon to get a chance to make a proposal?
It hasn't been that much of an issue on D2 since we had only 2 proposals so far, but when petitions for trade agreements and the like begin, I could see this becoming a possible issue!
Thanks again!
I believe we have it for Rumiko in D2, and we'll try to be sure to have it in one or the other of those places moving forward.Hiruma Daichi wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:16 pmPC is from the same School type (bushi, courtier, shugenja, etc.) as presiding officer, +1
PC is from the same School as the presiding officer, +1
For the sake of this Can you add the npc's school to their descriptions or to the opening court post?

Just to be sure, Rumiko's a Loremaster, a Courtier School.
