[Day 2, EA] Court: the Galleries

[Agasha Yuna]

At a proper time and with all proper etiquette, Yuna approaches Suzume Ryobu for a conversation in the gallery.

[Mirumoto Jinkan]

Jinkan, dressed in green and black stood among the assembly with a sick grin on his face as he watched the Empress.

She didn't say they couldn't start a war the moment after her heir was named. I wonder if anyone caught that.

[Yogo Kiuchi]

Kiuchi saw the Mantis daimyo. He decided he was here for a reason and approached Mantis lord.

He bowed low as appropriate to the Mantis's station. "This one is Yogo Kiuchi. May I have the honor to speak to you, my lord?"

[Gusai Rioshida]

[Yasuki Masaki]

Yasuki was there as well, standing close to the other Crab delegates - and kinda close to the Crane as well, if possible. She wore a kimono with a bright white background covered by a koi fish pattern in red and blue - both neither too dark nor too light; that and other details in the hem and other places - many in dark blue, but also other colours - made sure that the well-made garment would not be confused with the type of all-white kimono used for other circumstances.

Her right hand held a fan in different tones of blue - which she seemed to move gracefully and often.

(OOC: I'll add a description earlier next time, somehow I'd completely missed this!)

[Doji Shinnosuke]

After presenting his own official business, Shinnosuke, slightly flushed with success, retires to the gallery accompanied by a rustling of layered silks. Akodo Sanae, whom he'd spoken to last night, catches his eye first, standing in the shadow of a massive gentleman who he vaguely recalls may be the Badger daimyo. And who is that stylish little older lady? Oh... Our nemesis, eh? She looks so delightful, though...

Half-opening his fan, he approaches the cluster and bows, greeting the two Champions properly. "And this must be Lady Otomo Mariko. Madame Imperial Matchmaker, I have been so eager to make your acquaintance." Shin puts on his most charming manner, which is quite charming indeed.

[Otomo Mariko]

(sorry for late posting, RL no oni is hitting me hard and I still have to work a double today.)

Ikoma Tanji follows through the motions for the court up until the moment his official work is done, he followed the entourage in, kept the respectful air and listened actively to the initial proposals. Then he made one of his own that fit the them. Now he is going to see if he could get an audience with Kaiu Masahito while there is still time and good vibes.

The massive Crab is hard to miss, sitting as he is in all his splendor. He is coolly observing the Lion coming to support his clan's little initiative, and he looks pleased.

[Daidoji Sae]

Sae's On remains flat even as the Empress begins her assault on everyone in her proximity, so forceful as to make even a Hida stand back.

[Agasha Yuna]

At the Empress' concerning coughing, Yuna stayed absolutely still. Courtesy - and perhaps something more - demanded no reaction to it. Let no bell ring, she thought. Oh. Oh no.

But her face remained perfectly serene.

Still, she was glad of the distraction provided by Akodo Kenji. She loved calligraphy and this was an extraordinary effort. Part banner, part scroll, part exhibition of how to write kanji in exquisite beauty. Exceptional.

She wished she could move closer to examine it in detail. But of course did not move.

But her expression - looking at Akodo Kenji - was appreciative. Impressed.

[Otomo Tooru]

Rumiko smiled happily.

"A splendid offering, Akodo-san. The court accepts with gratitude this sign of your clan's commitment to the traditions and history of the Empire."

From his position at the foot of the dais, Otomo Tooru's fan clacked open. With a flourish, he placed it to cover his mouth as he leaned in to speak with another Imperial to his left. That his voice was pitched only moderately lower was beside the point.

"A commitment to history. How appropriate for the setting. But one wonders what a person seeking to portray the real positions of the clans would make of his Right and Left hands?"

On cue, his neighbor tittered, but that was immaterial. What mattered now is who overheard.

After presenting her Clan's own gift, she looks for Kitsune Aiko in the crowd, and slowly tries to move so as to position herself closer to the Fox's de facto Daimyo. When finally closer, she bows low. "Kitsune-sama. It has been some time since this humble one last had the chance to meet one our northeastern almost-neighbours"

Aiko blinks a couple of times in surprise, then bows to a precise degree.

"Now that's right nice of you t'say, Yasuki-san," she says. "What all c'n I do f'r you?"
