I actually asked because I thought Fukurokujin had said trade-only deals, with no figleaf of non-commercial diplomacy to make the medicine go down, are a bit un-boring/different from routine. But I want to figure out if I'm reading that right.

So tomorrow is Dayflip to Day 456. That is to say, Day 4 5 and 6 which run concurrently accordining to the calendar. Not ever having done a combined day before, what does this mean for time and sleep? Do we still have the same number of timeslots we would for a normal day? Do we stll give up 3 timeslots for sleep? Since it's a combined day, could I do multiple locations in the same timeslot? Like one day I went to temple in the middle of the afternoon, but the next I went for tea, and the final I went for sake.

I don't mean to pick on the Phoenix and Crab, but their mutual deal in court D3 seems to be pretty much a "straight trade deal" (as opposed to the Crab/Boar one, which has some elements of an alliance such as the exchange of military support although no marriages). PC-to-Player knowledge gap here--is this something that would be at all notable?

As Ryusei says, it is very much a commodities deal. Is that grounds for an intervention? According to what Fukurokujin laid out earlier, it would seem so. But there should be a lot more factors in your decision to intervene than just "are there grounds for it."

It's proving more difficult than I anticipated to balance giving players an opportunity to participate in debate and moving things along. We've had a situation where a person has rolled for a debate position but we've posted an NPC and wrapped things up on a debate before she got a chance to post it. That's not great. And we've got this larger problem where deals are experiencing a bottleneck, and that's not great either.

We've tended to err on the side of letting things marinate a bit. We do have 10 more court dates over the course of court. Realistically, 8 of those are days for general business. We will almost certainly get to everybody over the course of that time. On the other hand, I can certainly start stepping things up if there's a consensus that it's better to be more efficient than to allow for possibly greater participation.

We could also consider ghosting a presentation as an option, if you wish. It doesn't strike me as ideal, but I'm not sure that there is a way to do this that's going to work ideally for everybody.

One suggestion would be to make two or three threads. Court part 1, debates on topics (NPC and PC). Court part 2, trade deal signoffs. Court part 3, gifts presented from artisans. And let them run at the same time. (All in the same time slot, just a hat tip that these facilitators are all talented enough to make sure there is space for each thing.)
