The terms are confusing, I had to look them up and double check them too. Thanks for your patience! Tatsuya being a closer relation to the Empress (along with her intentionally plucking him out of obscurity) is most of my argument, LOL.

Lord Baisho doesn't represent "the Hantei," he represents Hantei Retsuhime personally. Tatsuya is her second cousin--the son of her great-uncle.

This should make Tatsuya a first cousin, once removed - a closer relationship than second cousin.

I actually believe GM-sama was right the first time? Tatsuya is a second cousin of Retsuhime, like Tomaru. Muhaki was Retsuhime's grandfather's brother, not her mother's brother.

edit! whoop, this chart's understanding of first/second cousin is different from mine. Okay, so Tatsuya is first cousin -1. Noriko is first cousin proper.

Still, the main difference between Tatsuya and Tomaru is that the former's parent was also emperor while the latter's wasn't (and they might be of different generations). But their relation to the late Empress R-hime is pretty comparable.

If we throw in in Asian concepts of generational succession, Tats is from the generation above Rets and shouldn't be eligible as her heir, but I don't think Rokugan does that.

I currently have a promised morning talk with Suzume Ryobu and an evening talk with Seppun Sadako for D10. Would it be possible to fit in a talk with Doji Minehime for D10 in a slot that doesn't coincide with those two and events?

If that's not possible, could I maybe make a reservation for D11?
