D10 MM - A lot going on (Open to Crab)

"Hai, adding this as participation in one event held by another clan might be best", she adds with a nod.

"Hm. Talking to the Lion about this might be possible - quietly, of course, considering the circumstances." A pensive pause. "Other than Kitsu Shintaro-dono, were there any other Kitsu of a spiritual bent among the Lion delegates? Anyone you've talked to, Hiruma-sama?"

She then turns to Masahiko. "This matter obviously takes precedence, Kaiu-sama. But when this is done, there are two simpler matters regarding trade that I'd like to discuss. And another matter related to the Fox."

"Okay," he said. "Have at it."

She nods and takes two notes from her right sleeve. "One is a second agreement with the Centipede", she says, handing him the first note:

Crab offers Centipede:

• 2 Copper (leaves us with 3)
• 1 Kaiu Armour, to be worn by Moshi Kashiwa
• Yasuki-ke no kashin Kawagoi Haruto becomes betrothed to Moshi-ke no kashin Murakami Fuyumi and will join the Centipede.

Centipede offers Crab:

• Blessing of the Sun on one person for one year - increases resilience to corruption; still need to discuss who receives it
• Moshi-ke no kashin Murakami Atsui becomes betrothed to Kuni-ke no kashin Kuroyama Shiori and will join the Crab

She then looks at the second note, somewhat pensive. ""In hindsight, I believe this second one is exactly as Hiruma Daichi-sama had discussed with you earlier." She hands it as well.

Crab offers Fox:

• 1 Iron (our last 1)

Fox offers Crab:

• 1 Dye (fills our needs)
• 2 paper (fills our needs)
• 2 rice (leaves us with a surplus of 1)

"My other talks with Kitsune-sama involved mostly other matters, for which she is hoping for support." She looks at him, half expecting Masahiko to understand the rest from context - hopefully Daichi would have mentioned this already, and she had the impression this was a matter best not discussed only in front of Sadako.

"That aside, and more directly related to the matter of the curse, I believe Hiruma-sama had an agreement with the Scorpion to discuss as well."

[Seppun Sadako]

"Yes, please do address that," Sadako says. "If there is a matter of such import, I will likely need to know about it, anyway."

[Kaiu Masahiko]

Masahiko folded his arms. "Well, let's hear the Scorpion thing, then. Best not to keep Lady Seppun waiting." Anything to put distance between Lady Seppun and the Fox business.

"As you say Kaiu-dono." He replied with a respectful dip of his before he produced a note and handed it forth.

Crab get:

"In the interest of increasing ovreall regional security, we would like to extend an invitation to the Scorpion, the Fox, the Sparrow, the Emerald Magistrates, and the Otomo family, to explore the viability of increasing the presence of the Emerald Magistrates in the region via the construction of a fortified manor on imperial lands bordering the four clans."

"While I believe there is a bulk of supplies going to the Crane along with the research that we will not have access to as the deal has already received the courts approval."

"This does allow us to get a step ahead and start producing our own supplies with the research the Scorpion have put together. Yasuki-san asked themat I was sure to include the Seppun in that portion of the deal as well, and Soshi-san and the Scorpion were more then happy to oblige."

"So much is appreciated," Sadako says. "I will add it to the list of preparations that must be made upon return to Otosan Uchi."

[Kaiu Masahiko]

"I'm pleased we were able to horn in on the plague research so directly. Thought we would have to settle for the results after they finished their reports, not as it was happening. That's pretty great."

[Hiruma Daichi]

"I was surprised as well, though Soshi-san was generous enough to suggest that as the best time for us to be involved. After our initial hiccups, it's been a pleasure to be able to work with him."

"I should be presenting this before the court tomorrow since it meets your approval."

[Kaiu Masahiko]

"Excellent. And Yasuki-san, that thing with the Centipede can go ahead."

After nodding along as the conversation went on, she nod-bows to Masahiko in confirmation. "Understood. This will likewise be presented to court tomorrow if possible." Gesturing as the other note on Masahiko's hands then. "And about the agreement with the Fox in its current state, if I may ask? From my understanding, Kitsune-sama is happy with those terms - and sees it as separate from any other discussions. Although I understand that we might want to deal with all matters at once."

[Seppun Sadako]

"Is there something afoot with the Fox, as well?" Sadako asks.

The Yasuki answers with a polite, but gentle smile. "Nothing worthy of similar worries as those involving the curse, Seppun-dono. Political matters that might affect both clans, and as such of possible importance to the Crab - but nothing that should bring further worries to Seppun-dono's already busy schedule, I believe."

She even actually believed this at the time. Mostly, at least.

Sadako raises an eyebrow, takes a deep breath.

And, because dayflip has happened, she decides not to press the issue.

"I hope you are correct in this, Yasuki-san," she says. "I very much do."

[Kaiu Masahiko]

Masahiko said simply. "I would like to discuss the Fox matter further at another time, Yasuki-san. Now, if we have quite finished using up Lady Seppun's time, I think we can bid her farewell and call this meeting to a close."
