I feel in the rare opportunities you have a Perception of 3+, you should always just take both hunting and investigation. Alas, my past self didn't have that foresight!

Sadly, Hunting tends to just be a much worst option then Investigation. It's more survival-based things that never come up in a game and the ability to track animals, which also tend to never comes up in games. The later part might have some impact on an investigation. but at the same time, you can most likely track with investigation at a slightly higher tn.

So even with perception 3+ I'll typically not take it or take it at most as 1.

tldr: Hunting is a C tier skill.

Eh, well Ikoma bards, which they will tell you are the best courtier class in the game, get a rank of a martial skill. I thought about Athletics, which wouldn't helped this game either. If I'd thought of the bowman's wager, I suppose I could've put it into kyujutsu to go shoot, I just didn't think of it. second rank was me going, "Well, I've got 2 xp to spend, it's either a emphais which haven't been tagged very often, this, or another rank of Lore: Lion"

Hunting catching all of these undeserved strays I think hunting is just neat (potato).

I recall playing a Water 4 character once and rolling Xk4 on Hunting, Investigation, and Athletics was just neat. Maybe that should be a future concept. Would that be the same concept as Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes?
