You would need to raise the Influence Score of your House to the next threshold. That would make the whole cascade move up by one point. Or you could marry someone very influential, I suppose, and join their house.

And if that's not an option because we're already married we're just stuck being the forgotten delegate?

Your mechanical influence rank shouldn't be an impediment to you contributing to your delegation. Remember that deals are made by PCs talking with other PCs and minor clan daimyo. Remember that you can chat with anybody but a Daimyo from a different Great Clan (or Imperial Officer) about anything under the sun. You can be the matchmaking delegate, the delegate who does research, the delegate who tries to patch things up between Matsu Tsuruyo and Akodo Sanae (however challenging that may be). There's not a lot of limit on what you can do, there.

But the score itself is very hard to raise, yes.

As the boss monks seem to be happily helping my Crane neighbors create a Benten altar, and there isn't any mention of this major Fortune in the description of the temple complex, does that mean the latter doesn't have anything specifically dedicated to Benten?
