Ryoko Owari is a very big place, and there are many ronin struggling to make a living among its twisting alleys and lumber-wagon traffic jams. And you’ve got to find one of them, even if it takes you all night.

You have the run of the streets of Ryoko Owari for the three time-slots set aside for this event. You can try to track down Tatsuya using any method you choose. Your friendly neighborhood gm is ready to run NPCs to your specifications. You must have a total of 4 successful rolls to successfully find Tatsuya. These rolls have a TN of 20.

Three questions:
1. Since this stage takes 3 time slots, does that mean each team member gets to make 3 rolls to find Tatsuya in this stage?
2. Do called raises yield more successes?
3. I'd like to talk to people and ask around for Tatsuya using a true (but vague) cover story of "His rich cousin wants to meet him to maybe give him something". Would this be Investigation/Awareness or Courtier/Awareness or something else?

Yes, you can only refute an NPC once per PC. You can concur with your buddies' position (once), or introduce a new position as Hoshiko has done.

After the tail has been noticed, you may attempt to shake the tail, but be warned that the Scorpion are nothing if not tenacious. You may make Stealth/Agility, Disguise/Awareness, or Athletics/Agility checks at TN 25 to ensure that your shadow does not also gain the information you gain during your attempt.

Additional one, but on an event so keeping it separate.

In "A Disturbance in the Force":

1) I'm kinda 'guessing' for Step 2 we should use the roll that makes sense for how we become eligible for the event. So disadvantages would generally be a 'negative' connection, advantages a 'positive' one and.... neutral I'm not sure tbh. Maybe shugenja without anything else should use the 'neutral' option by default? Just trying to understand better here - although I *think* what I thought and did at first makes sense.

2) Which leads me to the questin about part 3: I'm assuming which roll we use here depends on which choice we made for part 2:

Elemental Connection => Courtier/Ring (if shugenja, not sure otherwise)
Spirit Realms => Lore: Spirit Realms/Awa
Ancestors => Influence Rank/Awa
Kami Blood or Path of Man => Meditation/School Rank

There doesn't seem to be an option to roll Theology or something else related to the fortunes, though, so which option should we use in that case?

Or am I assuming too much in there being a connection with Step 2, and we can actually just *choose* whichever option we prefer?

Oh, there's a third one I've been meaning to ask for a long time and forgetting to.

On the Status or Influence necessary to speak to important people.

Speaking to a Daimyo needs Status/Influence 3; speaking to an Imperial Officer needs Status/Influence 4.

Specifically for the Daimyo of Imperial families (Miya Hachi, Otomo Tooru and Seppun Sadako):

Miya Hachi is also the Imperial Herald, so he's clearly also an Imperial Officer and thus needs Status/Influence 4.
What about Otomo Tooru and Seppun Sadako? Do they 'count as' Daimyo (and therefore status/influence 3) or as the equivalent of Imperial Officers (and thus status/influence 4)?
